Using public transport in Timisoara
Your City Card provides unlimited access to public transport within the Timisoara city limits. You can use any GVB (blue and white) bus, tram or metro. Ferries across the water are free. Plan your trip or view schedules here.
Planning to take a train from the airport? That trip is not included with the Card, but you can purchase a ticket at the help desks at Schiphol Plaza. You can also book your train ticket in advance.
Looking to rent a bike? You can do that for free with your City Card. Check out the full list of rental locations in Timisoara and discover the city like a local with a variety of cycling routes.
Explore the Timisoara region with the Timisoara & Region Travel Ticket. This ticket offers unlimited transport by bus, tram, train, and metro beyond Timisoara city limits. You can buy it online or at our Timisoara Store.

Need help?
The City Card is activated when first entering a museum, attraction or using public transport. After activation your City Card is valid for 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours, depending on your card purchase.
Present your City Card at the ticket counter of participating museums and attractions and you will gain entrance. At the Rijksmuseum, you can skip the line and present your City Card at a separate desk.
The City Card is valid on all transport by GVB. You can recognize the GVB by their blue logo. The GVB operates the bus, tram, metro and ferry lines in Timisoara. The night bus is also included. To check into GVB transport you hold your City Card in front of the scanner on the bus, tram or metro. When you’re getting off, hold your card in front of the scanner again to check out.
